- Quick Nesting: Added a native tool to tightly arrange and nest parts to save material (supports text and grouped objects).
- Font Management Dialog: Dedicated menu to browse, filter, and preview up to 4000 fonts.
- Undo History Dialog: A visual timeline of your project edits that saves and restores its position/size.
- Tangent Circle Generator: Easily create circles perfectly tangent to other geometry.
- Project Templates: Save layouts as baseline template files to speed up your workflow.
-
New Scissor Tool Operations: Trimming sections or holding Shift while clipping now correctly passes segments to the active layer.
Laser & Device Control
- Custom G-Code Revamp: Added editable blocks for headers, G20/G21 modals, escaped text sequences, support for M73 time estimates, and custom rotary variables.
- New Protocol Support: Expanded compatibility for Duet / RepRap flavors, and FluidNC.
- Dual Laser Support: Ability to uniquely name laser sources when dual heads are enabled.
-
Split Units: Control Units (how you interact with the software) are now separated from Device Units (what the machine uses natively).
🎨 User Interface & Experience Updates
- High DPI / Retina Scaling: Major overhaul to prevent text, icons, and menus from blurring or growing too large on high-resolution screens.
- Compact Workspace Layout: Reduced the physical screen footprint of the Cut Settings, Galvo Settings, and Laser/Cuts windows to leave more room for your design workspace.
-
Console Themes: The console panel now inherits colors directly from your overall application theme and uses the
Consolasfont where available. -
Expanded Tooltips & Warnings: Added precise warning indicators for things like zero tool diameters, 3D slices with a single pass, or trying to calibrate an axis while Rotary mode is enabled.
🛠️ Major Bug Fixes
Geometry & Drawing Fixes
- Text Distortion: Fixed an issue where ungrouping text that was bent or wrapped along a path would distort or completely lose its bend.
- Node Editing: Resolved an undo error where click-dragging or deleting multiple nodes would fail to register correctly in the history.
- Shape Mirrors: Ungrouping an array with mirrored objects no longer strips away the mirror transform.
- Open Shapes: Tiny line removals no longer accidentally open up fully closed vector geometry.
Camera Wizard Fixes
- Fixed various memory leaks and unexpected application crashes in the New Camera Wizard.
- Corrected calibration math so the alignment pattern wizard accurately converts zone sizes between Metric and Imperial units.
- Resolved high-resolution network camera streams (like Thunder Vision) swapping network ports or failing to load.
Device Connectivity & Safety
- GRBL Adjustments: Reverted the LightBurn GRBL protocol back to a standard "GRBL-ish" format to maintain seamless machine connectivity.
- Framing Safety Locks: Users are now locked out from toggling the laser FIRE button while the laser is actively framing or busy.
- Fixed Mac-specific freezing and crashing bugs that occurred strictly during framing commands.
🔍 Easter Eggs & Miscellaneous
- Jokes in the changelog are now explicitly formatted in italics to assist the humorless.
- Significantly reduced risk of death.
- Ezcad2 Galvo Z Control will return in Avengers: Doomsday.
- Mood sensor added. Will generate more bugs when the user is angry.
- Resolved ALL ongoing legal issues from the 6th incident.
- As always, if something looks wrong in Preview, believe Preview. It has seen things.
